Found a 6906 at a hole in the hole in the wall..
I went to do a transaction at the most out of the way LGS I have ever been too.. about a 90 minute drive each way. It was on a country road on the OH/PA border. Out back of the owners house.. A garage or something turned into a store. I did the transaction..FTF sale via transfer for pre 39.
Then I looked around...Holy Moly! He had more used S&Ws I had seen in one LGS large or small. His best piece was a flat Latch Chief Special just North of a baby Chief. I have several so I did't buy it. My wife was with me and I showed her a LNIB 6906 that had the slide polished. The rest looks pristine...& un touched. Original box and the 2 original mags. She liked it and it came home with us as well. So me and the Mrs. both got guns for our ride to the country today.

Dude, you scored, those seem to be impossible to find, at least for me around these parts. Good shooting and all the best!

Great guns. Mine is one of my favorite guns to bring to the range.
Dash, they are out there, but you have to move fast as they don't stay out there for long!

I'd love to hear the name of the shop! Promise not to go & snipe on a regular basis, but it would be fun for a "once a year" stop.
I totally love dropping in to random gun stores, especially when I am out on leisure or travel time. But the part I absolutely LOATHE is that if I am out of Ohio, buying handguns simply isn't going to happen. Yes, they always tell me they can ship but shipping & FFL on my end ruins any manner of a deal I could expect to make.
Pretty pistol you snagged.

That was a year and a half ago. I truly don't remember how to get there or the name. PM Bam Bam He is the one who is from PA and knows it well. I did the transfer of a gun with him. I believe he lives very close.

IS like finding a 65 Vette stored away in a barn in the country. I hear about hidden treasure finds like that, but never seem to find one myself. That 6906 is a beauty!!

In 1969 I was 14. My Godfathers son was killed in Vietnam. He asked me if I wanted to buy his car. A 1963 Split window Corvette.
At 14 I didn't have the means nor a license yet... so no car..
That has haunted my memories since..
A couple months ago a friend of mine gave me a call..
He's a contract painter and was power washing a house and the renters in back had a car under a cover. He knocked on the door and asked to get it moved. He was told it didn't run. Been sitting for 10 years.
He lifted the cover..
It was a 1965 Mustang Fastback 2+2.. C code(289, 2bbl) All original..California no rust.
The owners told the renter that they were going to sell the house and they would need to move.
They panicked and offered my friend the car..$3500.. car was in his shop the next day. We charged the battery put some fuel in it.. VROOM..!!. Sold it a week later for north of $20K..

This would have been a good candidate for a new thread rather than jacking this one. Personally I don't know of any Walnut, but Hogue has a number of nice woods:

He didn't "jack the thread", the thread has been dead for a year and a half until some clueless newb resurrected it, and started talking with someone that wasn't there.
