Default 1988 Shooting times 4506 review

I saw an interesting 4506 article for sale on fleabay. It is a review of the then new 4506. From 1988.

More interesting to me is the photo shown in the for sale ad. It shows the magazine open to the article. On the first page of the article is a picture of two early 4506's. Both with the early hooked trigger guards.

But thats not the interesting part, one of the 4506's is BLUE with adjustable sights! A blue early production 4506 with AS and hooked trigger guard. Captured on film! For me, this is better than a Unicorn sighting....well.......it IS a Unicorn sighting!

Anyone ever seen or heard of an early production blue 4506? And NO it is not a 4505. It appears to be a 4506. Anyone still have that issue of Shooting times and can provide us more details? A serial number off the gun perhaps? Regards 18DAI

The blue one is a 4" 5904 labeled just below the gun in the picture.

How about a stainless 4505! I obscured part of the serial number.

Got them juices flowing for a bit did it??

I'm still drooling over the PC 4506 thread from BMCM

BLUEBELLYYANKEE that is a gorgeous pistol! For years I owned a complete 4505 top end with adjustable sights. I never found a frame to fit it and wound up selling it.

Thats what I was going for though. VERY NICE!

Yea Gunhacker I was excited by the possible existance on an early blue 4506. What a nice gun that would have been.

Guess I'll have to wait for BMCM to make one. Regards 18DAI

The best answer I got from the factory about why a stainless frame would be stamped with a 4505 is that "we made a mistake during the stamping of the frame". As far as I know it is the only one of it's kind.

Could be a left over frame that needed to be used and someone sent it down the wrong assembly line.
