Default Model 41 problem

Hi!

My son just bought a used '41 in a really nice shape, but he's unable to get the barrel off. He's followed the instructions in the manual, but the barrel is still stuck. Any ideas as to what can be the problem?

Over to you tube there are quite a number of videos showing the basic field strip for cleaning. Here is a link to one of those...

There are many more that may be of help.

I've had the same issue in the past. I wrapped a dish towel around the muzzle end of the barrel and lightly tapped the top and underside of the barrel with a rubber mallet. The barrel will come off, it just needs to be persuaded.

I would try both of the posters recommendations above. Like anything made of steel, things get tight over time from dirt, oil and grim.
