Default 2nd gen questions - model 469

I have been handling a late production 669 wearing what I believe are the original grips. They are thin hard plastic embossed with the S&W logo. They stop short of covering the very back/bottom of the grip frame.

Wearing those grips, the bottom of the grip frame hurts my hand when I grip the pistol. Its sharp/pointed.

I know there were a couple of different factory grips used on the 469/669 as well as aftermarket grips from Uncke Mikes and Pachmyar.

My question is which grip, if any, cover that sharp bottom corner when installed on the pistol? I'm a lefty and looking at picking up a 469. Thanks for your time! Regards 18DAI

I am partial to the original Delrin grips, but I'm pretty sure Hogue makes a fingergroove wrap-around grip that fits your requirements.

18DAI....let me look in my grips box...I might have a set of Uncle Mikes grips for a 469....if I do they are yours...

Randy

PS. the 469 is a great compact 9mm...you will NOT regret getting it!

Just bought a 469 myself. Not quite sure I understand what the problem area you're describing is, though. Mine has the textured plastic grips.

Thank you VERY much growr!! Very kind of you and much appreciated!

RDFabsRep - with the gun in your left hand, pointed down range, with a shooting grip - very tight. Feel that sharp bottom left corner at the rear of the frame digging into you hand?

I'm trying to find out if there is a grip that comes down further on the grip frame to alleviate that.

I'm gun poor at the moment and trying out possible remedies with a NIB 669 I inherited. But there is a nice condition 469 I've looked at that may be mine come July. Regards 18DAI

It's hard for me to duplicate your grip, as I shoot right-handed. All I really feel with my (attempt) at a left-hand grip is the textured back strap. But again, mine has the textured slim grips and they seem to cover almost all of the frame.

Hmm guys I was in an old gun shop yesterday that had several sets of the old thin wrap around Pacmyer grips for those pistols in a box in the back. They were all brand new but so old the packages were all brittle and dark yellow.
I was looking for a set of grips for my 1066 when we found those.
I have given thought to trying to snag all the S&W + browning HP grips in that box for a fixed price. They had several sets for the 69 series grips and another series I cant remember in 2nd gen S&W's + a couple sets for Browning High Powers in the box. I would keep one set of each of the S&W's + both sets for the high powers and sell the rest if I snag the box. The long time owner of the shop died a few years back and his wife and I went through that old box just yesterday.
They had a couple old price tags in the $30 range so are these pretty scarce and what are they worth? What would be a fair price on them and then I will see what I can do next week on snagging the lot. They are about 60 miles north of me right down the block from my moms house.
