Mossy and Arik,

Google "ASP pistol"... Heavily customized S&W M-39... The granddaddy of today's compact semi-auto CCW pistols.

Looks like Devel`s 39 Mini gun. The sights are a give away. This pistol evolved into 669 type pistols. Thats my guess.

Google ASP and Devel..the 2 pioneers in custom CCW 39s and 59s in the very late 1970s/1980s They basically pushed S&W into the 469/669 and 439/639s. They started it all.

BTW Very nice ASP!!!

Here is a link that will help anyone who is unfamiliar:

Here is its cousin the 39 Devel..recently acquired so I take no shame in a chance to show it off!

I've read about ASP. Wasn't the guy originally a musician or something. I remember his profession had nothing to do with firearms. I was guessing 380 based on how the mags looked

Default Devel

mbliss57 very nice Devel. I will look for one of those next. The sights on the ASP are pretty easy to use. You don't aim and much as look through it at the target. After only a few rounds it was pretty easy to draw and fire in a hurry. Will be my new off duty gun. Thanks all for the comments

Very nice ASP! Congrats!

Ken Null makes some very nice holsters. I have a couple he made for my direct descendant of the original ASP, the 3914.

After Paris Theodore and Seventrees went under, Ken Null owned the intellectual property rights, IIRC. Regards 18DAI

18DAI, it is also my understanding that after Theodore got out of the holster business, he sold the holster patterns to Ken Null, who still produces most of the Seventrees designs. I also have read that Chic Gaylord was a bit "upset" with Theodore because he felt some of the Seventrees designs were knock offs of his work.

I too have some of of Null's holsters and his Gibraltar Speed Scabbard and UNS designs are great. Maybe Fastsheriff will grace us with a photo of his ASP with his Null holster after it arrives. A classic combo, indeed.

Holy see-through grips Batman!
That ASP is more retro-cool than carbon-datable Eskimo Pies.

VERY NICE!

The sight is called a guttersnipe sight... very unique, I read about them in a S&WCA journal a few years back.

Pulled these images from the internet... I can see why it would take some getting used to.
