S&W 5906 Sights
Ok im fairly new to this, But i will love to know if this rear sight can come off with the metal base(ears) surrounding the rear sight. I will like to try other sights. Can anyone help me out in here?

Yes, WolfMannHD, it will come right off...
But I'm not aware of any replacement sights that will fit that dovetail.

Millet used to make take off replacements. They no longer make them but you can find them, "Millett 100 Series" are the ones you want. They came on my 1006 along with the factory sights. They are nice too, so I haven't put the factories back on.

Unfortunately the Millet rear also requires a taller front. Both are out of production, but can be found occasionally on the secondary market. Not sure if the Mlllet rear will fit on a slide that came with the factory adjustable.

You must have missed it but yes the Millet Rear like the above pics is for the adjustable sight slide.
And your right you need the front to go with the rear and there are two different heights, one for the fixed sight slide and one for the adj sight slide.

Ok. Great! Will they work with the original front ? The ones made for the fixed sight will not. A higher front is required.
