Local shop has had a 5943 with black hammer/trigger for at least a month. Honestly, I have not been there in over a year because of the BS ammo/mag prices they were charging in the panic so this thing may have been in there for a looooong time.

It has three mags, Novak sights (can't tell if they were night sights, haven't looked that closely) and nothing else factory. They have it priced at $350 so today I asked if they could do any better. They came out, asked what I wanted it for so I said $300. He said no way could he do that but he could do $350 out the door (8.25% tax) which brings it down to $323.32 + tax.

$23 is not much of a jump, although if my usual spot got one in like that they would price it at $275 so I was pretty generous offering $300.

I wouldn't buy it, but that's just me. I prefer TDA. With three magazines, though, that's not a bad price at all.

No, in my area DAO S&W pistols are not very popular and are difficult to sell. I practically gave away my S&W 5946 when I decided to part with it. That gun would probably not bring $300.00 on resale here.

However, if you need a lightweight, high capacity 9mm pistol and are willing to keep it forever it would be a decent choice, though still $50.00 higher than it is worth.

buy it and hold it for couple years it'll bring 400 easy when the next crunch hits.

I LIKE my 5943. No manual of arms. Just point and shoot and take great pictures. For 'family' use it can't be beat. The next one I get might be a 5906 but I'll keep the DAO. I would buy it but be warned, parts are getting to be a concern.

If you want a full size double stack DAO I think that's a decent deal. At least I think so.

$350 out the door is not too bad if the gun is nice. I prefer the DAO guns.
