645/659/6590 questions
A local forum has the following for sale:
645 SS - $625
645 SS with wood grip - $665
4566 - $625
6590 - $750
659 - $599
I'm interested in a couple of them but wonder if they are priced in the ballpark. Don't know if they have boxes or number of mags.

I usually assume there are no boxes, papers, or extra mags unless stated. That being my consideration, the 659 should be closer to $300-$350, unless it is in very, very good condition. that's just me, though, and it is the only one I would have enough knowledge on to comment.

What is there condition? Do they have the box or a extra mag? This will make a big difference. Plus some pics would help also.

The 6590 is an RSR Transitional and according to (SCSW III) Standard Catalog of the Smith and Wesson 3rd edition is considered "Scarce". Perspective in my opinion for that model ~ NIB, with papers and never shot is probably valued at $625 to $675. The seller is wise to it's scarcity.
If it was a 6591, is "rare" the value is higher.
I found and bought a 6690RSR, 3 years ago for $595. It was BNIB with papers, covered in cosmoline grease, unmolested inside the waxed paper, enclosed in the box. I feel I got a good buy.

If the 645 is mint, it's in the general ball park. The 659 is overpriced by about $200. I don't know enough about the other one to offer my opinion.

I have a mint 645 w adjustable rear site, with the box, original receipt and mags. I bought new in 88 or 89. No it's not for sale, but I doubt I'd get $650, unless I was selling to an absolute nut.

The 645 has become quite popular. Its reputation of solid tank like performance has brought it back into the limelight. Supply and demand has brought up prices.
