Default 6906, 5906 and 915's at Bud's

Hi guys, just wanted to let you know Bud's is carrying these again for about 350.00. I remember a few of you had been looking for them. I am sure you could put in an offer and they would accept it. Anyway, just wanted to let my fellow enthusiasts know.

Man...after seeing that last thread of pictures from Bud's 5906 selection, I don't think I'd ever wanna order from them.

I myself looked at those guns on their site. If looks don't bother you, they can be a good value. Personally, I don't like abused looking guns. I got a 5906 earlier this year. Was on a trade. Have $467 into it. VERY clean gun, functions perfectly, came with 2 factory magazines. Don't feel that I overpaid. Bob

Are these re-imported from overseas or a domestic LEO trade in? Anyone know? I suppose I could call Bud's.

$350 plus my FFL fee of $35 makes it $385 for a sight unseen gun? No thanks. Robertson trading post has 5906's for a hundred bucks more. Try don't charge extra for credit cards and they show like a dozen clear shots of the actual gun. Worth it to me. Now, if I lived near buds and could go look at them I would give it a shot. But lots of complaints in the 5903's they had

GT Dist in Dallas has a few 915 for $209 that came from PR. I assume Austin and Rossville GA got some too.

One of them had what appeared to be a 5904 slide with Novaks and ambi safety/decocker.

Had a 411 yesterday for $189.

All in store only, no way they could do phone sales since each store got around 500 guns.

Was over there yesterday. They have a truckload of used guns right now and running a 10% off sale. Picked up a decent PR 6946 a few weeks back for $250.

They better stop the 10% off or I'll be broke

I sold a G17 gen3 in nice shape for $500 and went straight to GTs to get a G17 gen2 for $282 out the door (prefer the 2nd gen and want a shooter).

Got a nice 6946 for $205 OTD (all of them were marked $239 except for one, it was $209).

Picked up a 5904 with a jacked up rear adjustable sight for about $195 OTD. Didn't feel like messing with it so sold it for cost to an acquaintance who likes 3rd gen S&Ws.

Also got a pistol grip 870 Wingmaster with factory extended tube for about $97 OTD.

A trick with GTs. When they have a lot of one model, check every price. They will have different prices, sometimes $20-30 less. That's why I looked at every one and stopped when I saw the $209 price tag. It was a later one they put out. It was not out the first three times I was in there during the sale.

For $350 on a road-rash gun with one magazine, might be OK if you have the equipment and time to clean them up. Most likely will need a new grip, internal inspection and probably replacement of springs (no telling how old they are). A lot of these guns have damaged or broken trigger play springs (does not affect function, but makes trigger floppy when at rest). Sights may be beat up, but are easily replaced too.

--------
But I am addicted to 3rd Gen Guns.... I just picked up six of the 5906 pistols from a police distributer (not Buds) that sells only to dealers. Mostly seat belt rash, but like most Dept. guns just carried lots and shot little.

Over the winter I will refurbish them with new springs and bead blast them back to almost new condition. I usually refurb a dozen or so per year. Unfortunately, I spend way too much time on them vs. the return.... so it's mostly a labor of love.

a $209 beater 6946 may just qualify for the perfect "truck" gun
