Default S&W 945-1

I traded for this 945-1 with original Performance Center metal case . I can not find much in SW Standard catalog about this gun.

It's a great shooter for sure. You can use 4506 mags in it if you recut the slot in the mag.

Click on the search bar at the top of the page and use the Google custom search and you'll find a fair amount of info.

Here's what I think is the most comprehensive thread.

CATALOG OF 945 PC VARIANTS - very LARGE accumulated reference material

Some years back I rented one at a range; it was a great shooter, wish I had one.

Toyman... they're great guns.

Basically it's a hybrid of sorts, the slide is basically a 4506 slide modified/customized by the PC shop, mated to what is internally a 1911 lower with different outside dimensions.

They started out as "limited edition" runs sold by RSR and Camfour and subsequently because a PC shop cataloged item.

Hogue, who supplies the original grips makes a replacement set sold by Speedshooter Specialties that are slightly thicker and makes the hold feel a lot better.

I have a 945-1 and would not trade it for anything. I was looking through the S&W website and found the owners manual for this gun. It was listed under 'Archived' models.

Mine is a no dash RSR model. The difference being the no dash doesn't have the firing pin safety on the right side of the frame. It shoots like a 9mm & is accurate as can be which is its reputation. Mine came in the metal pc case with paperwork & extra recoil spring. The mags are hard to find but I have found 2 more for $35 + shipping. I will never sell mine.

Is it a special Bomar? I can't see the dovetail in the pick. Looks like it has a housing of sorts around it.

My 945 dash nuttin', RSA0069, came with a Bomar-marked rear sight. I bought it new in 1998 (my, how time flies) and it is easily my favorite semiauto. They shoot as good they look.

I bought My 945-1, RSA254* out of the estate of a deceased friend for a better than fare price considering it had eight original magazines, five converted 4506 magazines and three holsters. It also came with both the PC case and PC rug. Not sure which this one shipped with as S & W CS can't tell me and there are no shipping labels or SKU labels with either the case or rug.

Regarding 945/945-1 magazines, call S & W customer service and order a few 945/945-1 specific magazines. I picked up four new from S & W a few weeks ago. Four cost me $191.25 including shipping. When I ordered mine on April 24 there were 41 in inventory. After my order there were 37. No telling how many are left in inventory today, if any

BTW, my rear sight is a Wilson.
