Default Model 639 Cleaned Up

Here is the 639 all cleaned up with new grips. Sorry for this post but I kept getting a error in the original post.
I used super fine auto grade sand paper and mothers mag to polish out the scratches and then applied a coat of wax.
One thing I found out, the recoil spring can be installed two ways but only one is correct!
Still looking for leads on an eight round mag

Nice job restoring your 639. Looks great. The round trigger guard 639 is one of S&W`s best looking pistols.

That looks very nice.. good job! I think that's the ideal 639 with the fixed site and rounded trigger guard.

Very nice 639 !
Picked one up a while back that is just under 3000 units above yours in same configuration with the exception that it has a right side safety lever.

Never did like the squared trigger guards back then.

Hey Engine, thanks. Question - does yours have a magazine safety? Do you know if it was optional. I believe the safety levers were available in single or double.

That looks awesome! I'm seriously jealous since I have never been able to find that particular version of a 639 at a price I can afford.

It looks like you did a fantastic job on your 639. Congratulations! Yours doesn't appear too shiny or glossy. I was looking at a 639 not too long ago but it had ruined (IMO) by some sort of power buffer/polisher. You could even see where the matte finish on the top strap had been "touched" by the buffer. I hope to find a nice one at a nice price someday.

Oh, BTW I like your Buck (Prince Model I think). Carried one of those daily for about 20 years. I finally retired it for a really nice little Mal Pardue design Benchmade.

Mine has a rounded trigger guard, L-R drift only adjustable rear site (some call them fixed ) and a magazine safety.
I dont believe S&W offered any with the mag safety bypassed but it can be removed.
