I am so pumped !!
Been looking for a nice stainless 3rd gen to add to my other blued models. but even more relevant, I have been intrigued with the DAO models. Other than pictures, I have never shot, or even had a sample in my hands. Last week as I was casually looking online on one of my dealers webpage, I saw a model 6946,. needless to say I whipped out my credit card and the rest is history. Received yesterday, other than being bone dry, it seems to be in excellent condition, as advertised, 1 mag, no box. I am pleasantly surprised with the trigger, short, smooth and lighter than I expected. Lubed it up, and replaced the recoil spring. The next step is taking it to the range and see how it performs. The prefix is TFJ , so any info or comments would be appreciated.

Congratulations! It looks great too. I've become a big fan of the 3rd Gens over the past couple of years. I'm off to the range this morning with my favorite, a 4506.

Congrats. Great find.
You are aware you'll need a CS9 and a 3913 to round out the family, correct? Oh, and a 5906...

The DAO guns are awesome I have 3 4053 5946 4046TSW and they are all xclt shooters with nice crisp triggers. I enjoy shooting these over all the standard models.

Cost me $450 I know it might be a little high, but in my part of the woods they don't come up too often, and the condition is great. I'm very happy !!!!!!!!!!!

Slight correction Pete, the OP now needs a CS9D and a 5943 to round out his DAO family.
