Something seems amiss, because a consultation of The Bible shows no "EKZ" as a alpha lead on any semi-automatic (though 2002/2003). The 5906 was produced through 1999.
So, as one of my esteemed colleagues, t-bird, noted above, I, too, say: "never happened without pictures."

Ah, Grandsons - Thank Goodness!
Well, the first test has been passed.
An inadvertent stumble upon what is determined to be a historical departure from the norm is twice as nice - in surprise and prospective price!
Get that young man (relatively speaking) on it! Time's a-wasting!

It looks very, very nice for a turn-in (there seems to be a lot of that going on right now and some of 'em are pure ****). Fortunately, I suppose, we don't have many prison riots at Raiford.
Now, as to when manufactured: Beats the livin' daylights outta me.
The good news is that any question I've ever had about Smith & Wesson semi-automatics is answered somewhere herein. Time to start diggin'!

Got a 5906 that son was given at UTA for Officer of the Year. He didn't like its weight. I never carried it cause of its weight. But it will drive tacks. Had a CHL instructor wanting to buy it.

My Smith autos are some of the absolute last guns I'd ever consider selling.
We're only one election away from losing many of our gun rights.

That's a very nice looking 5906, congrats on the find.
Manufactured on 04/09/1999.

Good job on the 5906! I have one myself. Not a LEO trade in though. Traded a GP100 for it. Very clean, and a good shooter! Enjoy it! Bob

I bought mine new in 2/94 TZR**1, I love it btw my nite sights died, does anyone have infor on new inserts. Also, if you want a nice shooting little 9mm carbine and can find one, the Marlin Camp 9 is sweet. They were only made for a couple of years, I bought mine because the take the same mags.
