Default 6450 Manual

Hi folks. I just scored a LNIB transition 645, complete with the factory box. However, there is no manual for it. The model on the box label is 6450.

Can anyone tell me if the manual for this gun is different than that of a "regular" 645, or maybe a 4506? I'd like to be on the lookout for one, but need to know what to look for.
Thanks!

I do not know what S&W supplied with that model, but I would think operation would be the same as either a 645 or 4506, so I suppose either manual would be fine.

This one may have come with the generic "metal frame semiautomatic pistol" instruction manual instead of a model-specific one.

I think that I am looking for the same manual for an early 4506 with hooked trigger guard. Here is a link to an old listing on GA for a NIB 6450 I found it shows a generic semi-auto centerfire manual with a picture of a hooked trigger guard. I think the 645 manual was the last model specific I have seen.

Thanks shawn mccarver; I'm fairly familiar with the operation & am mainly looking for a manual to "complete" this latest acquisition.

murphydog, I owned & sold a 4516-1 many years ago & from memory I thought it had some type of generic manual but couldn't remember exactly what it was.

Thank you IraIII; that pretty much confirms what murphydog was saying. That also shows the cleaning kit too. The factory box, serialized to the pistol, is just about perfect & if not LNIB is as close as you can get. I'd like to find the correct manual & cleaning kit. I've saved that picture - thanks for the link!

I have two transitional 6590 models with the original boxes and paperwork. Strangely enough, one has the generic third gen semi auto manual, while the other has a model specific second gen 659 manual, even though it is clearly a third gen model, just stamped on the frame as a 659. Both warranty cards are stamped in blue ink with an October, 1988 date. My guess would be either would be correct for your 6450. Both of mine were shipped the same month, in late 1988 (I think it was November, can't remember).

Thanks grif684, it definitely looks like a 3rd Gen - which I guess it really is - & who knows what S&W was shipping with these. I'll have to keep my eye open at the Berea, Medina, & Akron gun shows for a manual. That's as good of an excuse as any to go....
