How does this happen?
I feel like I've crossed some invisible boundary into a different zone or reality regarding S&W firearms.
I just realized I have THREE in the safe that I have not yet fired - these aren't safe queens, and I haven't been acquiring all that long (maybe a few years, and I'm picky).
It used to be I couldn't wait to get the latest out to the range, now it's like "OK, another one, I'll get around to taking it to the range someday." Now there is a 908S, a 645 and a 15-2 (wheelgun, to you semi-auto fanatics) that haven't been shot yet by me. These were all guns that I "NEEDED"...
Is there any hope?

This is funny. I too have some that haven't been shot but when I go to the bullpen, they'll be ready! I'll get around to it, but it may take awhile.

If you don't have a couple of guns in the safe that you planned on shooting but haven't gotten around to yet, you don't have enough guns. Then again, I don't believe there is such a thing as enough guns.

What Michigan Scott said.
You really should shoot that 15-2.
15s are fantastic shooters.

Even worse is having guns you modded in the safe that you haven't taken the time to TEST...

Ammo was kind of hard to get for a while there. Now that it's more plentiful, it's time to take them out for a "spin".

I do that some. I've rounded out my perceived needs/wants list but don't get around to firing them for awhile. Picked up a new Tavor but it''s the old Uzi carbine that seems to go to the range instead. With me anyway, I think it's more of a no hassle instant gratification thing. As busy as I am I only have time for quick range trips. Grabbing the Hi Power (I know, this is a S/W forum. lol), Uzi and 200 round of WWB gives me guaranteed good results even if I'm a little tired. I simply am more familiar with them so the triggers, controls, handling are second nature. If I take something else it takes me longer to dial in with it so groups, ease of handling, etc. suffer a bit. Guess I've been a lazy shooter lately!

There's no hope for you...just send them to me.
I don't have a very big collection so I don't really have that problem.
Sounds like you need a range trip!

I really do need a range trip. It's not like I go often and have been ignoring the newcomers, I just haven't had a big enough urge to head out to the range. My wife was even asking to go recently. She thinks that 15-2 is hers. She spent some time with my 15 no-dash, and just had to have one. No way was she getting that one, so the 15-2 arrived.
Maybe it's the decision of what to take... all newcomers, and at least one old favorite as a control. Maybe one of each caliber...
Here I go again

Hours at the range pass like minutes.
Hours of cleaning afterward pass like days.

I wouldn't quibble with the wife if she like the 15. Give it to her, she probably deserves it any way.
I wish mine had that kind of precision in terms of what she likes.

I see no flaws in your collecting or buying habits. Your range habits however, need some serious overhauling!

Guilty! I have a 27-3 and 66-1 begging for range time.
There's no cure, but perhaps there is (or should be) an Handguns Anonymous organization?

Sounds to me like you're well off, and have something to look forward to. While I have never put off my first firing of any handgun (or other firearm), I can see how it might happen.
I wouldn't advise delaying your wife's opprtunity to fire her new gun.

I'd let her have it. If she divorces you, she'll get half of them anyway.
