Question 5906 age?

Hello Everyone!

This afternoon I purchased a Police trade in 5906. Good shape externally but looks a little dirty on the inside.

I would like to do a complete tear down of the pistol for a thorough cleaning, but am not sure of how difficult these are to disassemble.

I would sure appreciate it if any of you might be able to tell me the approximate age of this pistol.

The serial number is: VBH8160

Thanks.

Nate

I saw a decent video on youtube with someone doing a teardown and tuning of some internals. It should help. Search it out. It seemed pretty simple if you can follow directions and have mechanical abilities.

The standard model 5906 was produced 1989-1999.
The SCSW says:
1994 VAMxxxx
1997 UAMxxxx
1998 VHN

So, a guess might be a date of roughly 1995 for your serial # VBH8160?

John
