22A Failure to fire
My 22A would have a failure to fire every 3 or 4 rounds when I tried to shoot bowling pins last night. Any suggestions? Was running various SV ammo, nothing worked.

Are you seeing firing pin impressions on the rounds that don't fire?
If it was only with one brand/type I would lean towards the ammo. With multiple ammo brands I would look at the firing pin and make sure the channel isn't gunked up either with spent powder etc or even just excessive lube which may have picked up dust or dried out.
I don't recall ever seeing a FTF on my dad's 22A, but then I have only been out with him a couple times with that firearm.
I tend to run my firing pin channels pretty dry by then I use frog lube on my hand guns and don't take apart the firing pin/slide assembly after every range trip.
Another thing to check is under the extractor, a lot of build up there could result in excess space betwee the case head and breach face which might be just enough to result in a light strike.

That's exactly what I would have said as well. Use a toothpick to clean around the firing pin area if you have to. If you have fired any of the Remington Green box ammo then it may be the cause as it can be extremely dirty ammo to shoot which will cake up in these areas that Mcwsky09 has stated.

You also want to make sure that your barrel and chamber are good and clean. Because a dirty chamber can introduce enough "drag" so that a fresh round isn't quite fully seated. When that happens the firing pin strike will drive the cartridge fully into the chamber but the rim won't be struck cleanly enough to ignite the priming compound.

Yeah I suppose I should have asked some of those questions also.
When you say failure to fire that could mean anything from the trigger would not operate to the trigger operated but there is no pin impression on the cartridge to pin impression with no primer detonation. With a variety of causes such as magazine disconnect malfunctioning to dirty chamber etc to failure to return to battery caused by things like broken recoils springs to backed out laser screws or scope mount screws to long, depending on the firearm in question.
I've been thinking of developing a very detailed step by step document for people to fill out when they have an issue. A standardized way to detail exactly what did or did not happen. Either a full checklist or possibly a menu driven thing where each answer determines what options pop up next.
In theory could even build in info on make and model where the form would know whether or not to ask if you have a thumb safety for example. Or not ask you to check the thumb safety on a revolver for example.
