M&P Police trade in
After using a bore brush to get the rust out of the barrel I am just wondering if its not advisable to replace the barrel ? Any thoughts or advice would be appreciated

Replace the barrel only if its badly pitted and has poor accuracy. I'd be surprised if the stainless barrel was rusted that badly.

Unless there are significant problems with the bore, shoot the gun and report back. It's highly likely the gun will shoot just fine.

Shoot it first. Highly unlikely that it had so much rust as to pose a structural or accuracy problem. I have surplus rifles that have seen over half a century of corrosive ammo poor weather conditions and they still shoot just fine

Aren't those barrels stainless? Has anyone ever seen a badly rusted stainless barrel? I've seen stainless corrode, but never the inside of a barrel shooting modern ammo. Maybe what is being seen is dirt and not rust. Keep cleaning it and see what happens.
