Default Deep concealment 3914 NL. Your thoughts?

I find myself needing to deep conceal carry my 3914. It must remain unseen.

Anyone here carrying a 39XX series pistol in that manner? How do you accomplish it? Ankle holster? Tuckable IWB?

Please include the manufacturer and model numbers if you would. I'm left handed and leaning twards a tuckable IWB as I will not always have a cover garment on.

The pistol is a well used 3914 NL with factory Xenoy grip and the early 7 round mag with flat metal baseplate from a 3954. MAkes for one slick carry piece.

Thanks in advance for your kind assistance! Best regards, 18DAI

A tuckable IWB at 9-11 o'clock will work the best IMO, or even a non-tuckable IWB with the right clothing. Something like Thunderwear might offer the best concealment (for a gun with a safety), but drawing from the deep crotch could be more of a challenge.

I've tried out the sticky Remora holsters and they are fine in a pinch, conceal well initially, but tend to move around as you do. I prefer the IWB with belt attachments for this reason.

I'm not sure who would make a good IWB holster for the 3914 NL version specifically, but the type that conceals best does not have the belt clips/loops on top of the gun, but rather to the sides. Crossbreed Supertuck is a good example of this style.

The clip is kind of big (very secure just big) but I use a Wild Bill Covert carry when I need deep concealment for my Shorty.

Might give JM Custom a call. They make various IWB holsters and he lists some 3rd Gens. as options. Lead time is a bit long though.

I'd go with an "under the shirt" shoulder rig of some type.
Even the best tuckable IWB has some manner of clips or loops visible on your belt that a knowledgeable person will readily recognize for what they are.

Standard Air Marshall 2 from kangaroo carry looks like a good choice for a 3913
Standard 2

These guys also have some similar products

If you go with an IWB, the type of clips that offer the best concealment are the behind-the-belt velcro type (CrossBreed® Holsters V Clip). Crossbreed doesn't offer holsters for 3rd gens, but these clips could be used with another holster.

A few possibilities I've found with 3913 listed as an option, though you'd have to contact them about the slanted NL dustcover:
S&W 3913 Archives - Old Faithful Holsters
IWB Holsters

I'm intrigued by the Aliengear's neoprene-backed holster, as leather can sometimes be a little 'creaky.'

18,

I worked with a guy for years who carried his 6906 in a Renegade Cozy Partner ankle holster.

Seems a little heavy to me, but he loved the thing. The 3914 should be a little lighter.

I EDC a 3914 LS and I use a Crossbreed supertuck. I don't tuck, but wear a shirt over my waist line. It is very discreet.

The 3914 is a fairly sizeable pistol. You really need a smaller gun and a T shirt holster or a belly band.

Thanks Andrew, I didn't realize Crossbreed did 3rd Gens for the Supertuck model (CrossBreed® Holsters Super Tuck Deluxe IWB Concealed Carry Holster).

I've carried a Kahr K40 in a Mini-Tuck at times, and I agree it disappears very nicely without tucking in the shirt. After a few years the kydex shell broke at the top rivet, and the cutouts in the belt clips tore up my nice Beltman belt pretty good, but despite all of that it still functions well.

The fact that Old Faithful Holster's IWB hybrid uses thicker Kydex and more functional belt clips has me leaning towards them, between the two.

Tucker Gun Leather makes tuckables in both all leather and leather/kydex. Good quality stuff at a reasonable price. I have an all leather one for my 908 and my 457 also fits well - kills two birds. It doesn't have a stay open band which makes it thinner and also more comfortable.

I have an Alien Gear IWB holster for my Beretta Px4 Storm Compact that also perfectly fits my S & W 3913TSW. Very secure, no print, very comfortable. It can be had with various belt clips for even better concealability.

I use a FIST #1 for my 3913TSW and it conceals well. The only draw back would be that it's not tuckable. I just tried it and my 3914NL fits in it as well.

For tuckable holsters, I just ordered a MTR A2 "Dual Carry" it's tuckable and can be converted to an OWB holster as well. I ordered it for my 13-4 3", but they show it for the 6946.

If you really want a foolproof deep cover, talk to Milt Sparks about your needs, order a VM-2, and have mating loops sewn into each pair of pants you need. Not inexpensive due to the need to equip each pair of pants, but there is nothing better.

How is it that the magazine holds only 7 rounds when it is the same length as the 8 rounders? Inquiring minds want to know.....

It's truly flush fit.......... the 8rd extends 1/3" below the frame.

18DAI... check out Cook Holsters... they have a new(er) IWB "trigger guard carry"....... I've got one for the 3913 and Walther PPK.... haven't used them much but .. very minimalist for carry..... but ... they seem GTG

Thanks BAM-BAM, but nocents solved my problem for me............over 3 years ago. When I originally started this thread.

Thanks again nocents! I still have the gun and fine holster nocents gave me, but I changed jobs and no longer use them everyday.

These days I carry a 45 and any 9mm concealment tasks are well covered by a CS9. Regards 18DAI

I had one that I traded for with another member. I took it apart and found out what the difference between those and the eight round marked magazines was.

I then sold it, which I sort of regret. Even the flat plastic baseplates aren't nearly as slim as the metal ones. If I only knew someone with a sheet metal shop...

Sorry if covered already...didn't read all replies. I've been looking at one of these for deeper conceal when needed. No need for "cover garment", as your standard shirt would be your cover garment. Obviously, some shirts will work better than others. But your 3914 is only 1" thick (like mine), so this would really be invisible with this type. I saw these on Kahr arms site but web site to actual manufacturer is below (I have no affiliation). Another thing to consider, is the flat base plates you can get at midway for $4 each to replace finger extension type...so less printing.

Also, noted you've been talking about metal base plate mags. Hard to find, good luck. HOWEVER, I started a thread on this a few days ago. Squidex had great idea, he pointed out the Kahr metal base plates for MK9 / K9 fit perfect on stock 3913 mags. That is why I was on Kahr site, when I saw the concealed under shirt holster, I listed below. I bought two of these mag base plates, $8 each. See thread Here, squidex even included pictures of mag in and out of pistol. Not quite exact same as the LS mags with metal base as look goes....but you also get to keep your 8th round! magazine metal floor plates for 3913, etc

Well, one more post on this old thread.

I have a 3913LS, which is the same size and shape as the NL version.

I find it fits great in a Desantis Superfly E1 pocket holster.

It works OK pocket carrying it in pants with large pockets.

While the pockets need to be deep, the 3913LS is very thin and hides well.

The grip is the only issue, and while it fits OK in Duluth Firehose pants, I image it might print -- although I don't think anyone looks at my pants anyway.

Having the grip 1/4 or 3/8 inch shorter would be a plus, so maybe I need to find one of those flush metal magazine bottom plates.

For now I use the plastic bottom plate without the pinky extension and that works OK. Not sure I'd want to give up a round for a slightly shorter mag, anyway.

I use the E1 without the stick-on fly, so it's effectively a Nemesis.

The E1 is designed for the Shield 9/40, Shield 45, and the M&P 9C.

As stated, the 3914 is not a small gun. And "deep concealment without outer garment" seems impossible to pull off. 18DAI, you are one lucky guy! I don't know if you appreciate the advantage of the Stoner holster. It offers the deepest hiding of an IWB design and the ability to tuck a shirt over the gun/holster and behind the clip. The projection of the grip is only 3" above the clip. The gun can be drawn easily with practice while offering the deepest IWB concealment. See the photo of my 3914/Stoner rig.

You might want to look at a Galco belly band. I use one with my m649.
Conceals very well.

Where did you get the wood grips on your 3914?

I use either the Hidden Ally (for tuckable) or the Mr. Softy from High Noon Holsters. Both are low riding and thin.

I cc a 3914dao and traded out the Houge rubber for the factory 39xx Delrins grips and I think that’s the thinnest you can get, quite slim and not sticky.

I wasnt going to post in my own Zombie thread, but - since I started the thread perhaps an update is warranted.

Shortly after I posted, originally, I made a decision to retire from Investigations, rather than be chained to a desk moving piles of paper around and working for politicians with no clue or street experience.

I was appointed as Magistrate shortly thereafter. Armed by statute with no need to conceal, I went back to 45 single stacks. 4513TSW being most often chosen. And Don Hume JIT slides being my primary method of carry.

Thanks to all who contributed to the thread. Regards 18DAI

Edited to add: Special thanks to my friend nocents for the Stoner IWB holster. On the rare occasions I still use my 3914NL, I use the Stoner.
