Interesting ad on that large non-gun auction site, billed as an original page advertisement for "Smith & Wesson Target Pistols." Doesn't say which publication the ad is from, but the page itself looks legit, and the auction ad says this was from 1996. Can't post a link to the auction, and I hesitate to post a copy of the photo of the item, but wanted to pass along the information itself just for general interest here.
I found the 1996 ad interesting because 1996 was the last year for the 422 and 622 models, and the last year for the 2206 6" model. (The 4.5" model had been discontinued in 1993.). It was the middle year for the 2213 and 2214. (All this is according to the SCSW).
The Model 41 is listed for $735 for both 5.5" and 7" barrels.
The 422 is listed in both field and target versions, and for 4.5" and 6" barrels, as follows: $235 for fixed sights, $290 for adjustable sights.
The 622 is listed as an addendum to the 422 ad "with the same specifications" for $284, and with adjustable sights available for an additional $53. (There was no listing for the VR models of the 622, since they were produced only in 1997.)
The 2206 is listed in both field and target versions of the 6" model: $327 for fixed sights, $385 for adjustable sights.
The 2206TGT was also listed "with adjustable target sights, and drilled and tapped" for $433. (A photo shows the 2206TGT with the Millet sights.)
The 2213 and 2214 "Sportsman" models were listed as $269 for the blued version (2214) and $314 for the stainless (2213) model.
Drawings of some of the pistols were included in the ad, but otherwise it was all copy, which included weights, mag capacities, and so forth.
