I'm wondering if anyone has sent in a defective 22A1 and been given the option by S&W to receive a different pistol in exchange, maybe an M&P22 or M&P22compact perhaps?

I read some story of a guy that got that option, wondering if it's a reliable outcome now that the 22A1 is discontinued.

I would imagine that once S&W has no more new 22As or parts for them in inventory, they will offer substitutes at an adjusted price.

Right, and I'm wondering if they're at that point yet. Will be sending in my 22A1 if it doesn't work right on the next range trip.
