Default S&W 3906 extractor marking

I was cleaning my 3906 yesterday when I noticed a punch mark on the face of the extractor as if done by the factory. I never noticed before as I've only had her at the range 3 times and none of my other 3rd gens have the marking. S&W said my 3906 was made 6-17-89. Is there anything I should be concerned about.

Like this, on the head of the broken extractor on the right in this pic?

Common on the earlier 3rd gen 9mm extractors. (Later revision 9mm extractor on the left in the pic.)

Only pic of an early 3rd gen 9mm extractor I had in my collection. It just happened that it was a broken one I'd grabbed when I took that pic some yeas ago.

Possibly a hardness test mark?
