4516 US Marshals Bicentennial
Today i picked up a 4516 US Marshals Bicentennial that i purchased from a fellow forum member. Not only is this pistol every bit if not better than described, it was a very smooth transaction.

Congratulations on a fine pistol and a nice commemorative as well.
If I recall, 300 of those were produced.

In my experience 4516's are very comfy to shoot - for a compact 45
Recoil being subjective it varies how comfortable each shooter will find the 4516. I carried and qualified with mine for a decade and always did well with it. It is also one of the few semi auto pistols that I find "fun to shoot" too.
I look forward to your range report! Regards 18DAI

recoil has never been a issue for me it will be a lot softer than my SW1911 Pro-Series Sub Compact. Heck i once had a TC Contender i had re-chambered for 30-40 Krag that was fun LOL

Very nice 4516. I like the US Marshall Stamps. I sold one to a forum member 6 months ago or less...and have already replaced that mistake. You will enjoy that!

Just took my 4516 and a Commander sized LW 1911 to the range. By far, the 4516 soaked up the recoil. Almost to a point where after a few mags on the 1911, my hand was looking for the comforting recoil of the 4516!

Especially the 4516's. I have a dash 1 and have always admired the look and profile of these fine mid size 45's

Never saw that model before either, but I like it too!
I just noticed the silver Smith & Wesson lettering on the grips. I wonder if they came that way or someone got creative with a Sharpie? It looks good in the pic anyway.

I have a 4516 - 2 on the way as well as a 625 revolver. I'm really liking these 45's.
Hey Shorty, I just may need to abscond your moniker !!

Are there any US Marshal 4516 out there that some one is willing to part with? This was the first handgun i ever had the pleasure of shooting then it got stolen. Ive been looking for one for a while now.

Nice To See Others Appreciate The 4516-1, Too . . .
A somewhat rare carry piece back in '89, others started abandoning the .45 ACP due to recoil and, ahem, additional issues.
It was around the same time the FBI started looking for another sidearm, subsequently giving birth to the 10mm in the fathering of which S&W and Winchester/Olin conspired.
And while that 10mm is a fine weapon (I've two - a 1006 & 1076), the bottom line to me: Sometimes one just needs to produce a hole through which a Mack can be driven. Know what I mean?
Of course, another 4516-1 served, and still serves the above purpose for yours truly, the above-pictured Bicentennial has been parked in its presentation case almost since the day it was received. Not a round yet discharged, either. Indeed, haven't even thought about it in awhile and it was a real pleasure seeing it again.
Thanks for starting and participating in the thread, folks!
Later.

Very handsome pistol there. Did they tweak or find tune the USM 4516 over a standard 4516? While a big heavy, I often carry my no dash when the weather allows a larger looser garment. I. Have carried it some in the warmer month, but I'd prefer not to sweat on it during our hot/humid summers in Kentucky. It seems all of my steel 3rd gens are soft recoiling (all a bit heavy too).
I also like the color fill in the grips, for a change, and it is removable. I might try it on one of the extra grips I have in drawers. I have only seen one other USM 4516 up for sale, seems like it was over a grand. Very handsome gun.
