Default new to me 5904

Well I've been looking for one for a while and finally stubbled across this one. Has some cosmetic issues that I'll deal with done the road but internally its great. Got this and a Ben Franklin for a G27 that I refused to find any affection for. Love the Smith 3rd gens

Very nice! A pistol of that age would fall under the early 3rd gen grip recall. If there is no dimple on the bottom of the grip, call S&W for a replacement.

Nice pistol. You will love it. The mags look like 10 rounders.

Great deal. I have 1 10 round that I use at the range. Saves on ammo especially when my daughter shoots it. She just keeps banging away until the slide locks back.

Inked..I think this might be a good candidate for at least the frame being cerekoted, the blueing on the slide flats is pretty decent and I can live with that although the frame certainly has "character" as is!! I see a set of Novak style sights in its future also. DA trigger pull is so smooth. I'm afraid to make it look too nice, we were shooting it out behind the barn earlier and the better half really liked it, I didn't get it for HER!! Lol

Be aware that installation of a Novak rear sight will require some machining to that early slide. If you want night sights, the only drop-in option is the Trijicon SA04. I have them on my 3904 and 3906 and they are a vast improvement over the early factory sights.

Thank you again sir, those look great! I think that will work nicely for what I'm looking for. I certainly appreciate all the info you gentlemen have given me. My 3913 and 45tsw are mint so this is the first one I've really considered doing anything too and all the helpful info so far has got me itching to get going on it
