Default 1911PD Question

I usually hang out on the 1980 to present revolver side of the forum but recently purchased a 5" 1911PD and have a question for you experts out there. I posted a thread showing off two guns I just bought, a 640-1 and the 1911PD. Another forum member made a comment on the frame rails. He has a pic of his PD without the rails and said mine was the first he'd seen with. According to the S&W archive sight and online articles I've read I thought that the 5" model had the rails and the 4.5" model did not. Any help would be appreciated.
BTW it shoots like a dream!

I bought my commander PD new in 07 and you could get the 5 inch PD with or without the rail. Thanks for the pic and info, best of luck 75vette.
