Default SW99c .40cal Magazines

New guy, I tried doing a search but no luck so here goes, I have a SW99c 40 with 8 round mag and am wondering if a new MP9 40cal 10 round magazine will fit in it? Obviously it would stick out of the bottom but was thinking of getting an xgrip extender to solve that issue. Has anyone tried this?

Thank you for the schooling!

I guess what I a trying to say is looking to increase my compact 8 round to 10, looking for correct magazine and advice on which wraparound to cover the gap. Most searches point me to MP but unsure it that would work or if I should be looking at Walther mags. Also no wraparounds for the walther and even the MP doesn't match up correctly but beggers can't be choosers.

Are you limited to 10rd magazines by your location? Why don't you just get full size SW99 magazines?

Your magazine choices are:

S&W 19279
Product: SW99 .40 Cal Magazine& 10 Rd

Walther 2796503
P99 .40 S&W - 10 Round

Magnum Research MAGFA4010
Magnum Research MR Eagle .40S&W 10-RD Magazine - Style # MAGFA4010, MRI Shop / MR Eagle Series Magazines

I think the Walther grip adapter is the only choice.

question though, so in mass I am able to have mags over 10 rounds if they are preban (sept 13, 1994), is there a way to figure out when a magazine was made or a site to purchase ones?

I would say there are no pre-ban magazines since the P99 and SW99 are post-ban pistols. The P99 began production in 1997 and the SW99 in 1999. However, there is an interesting thread on this topic in the Walther forum - http://www.waltherforums.com/forum/p...-ban-mags.html
