Default 645 year of production

Well I took the plunge and purchased a 645 yesterday at a local pawn shop. Been on the lookout for 5 or 6 years now to replace the one I sold in 1992. Can anyone tell me the year of production with TBA-XXX

Thanks in advance,

Dave

Nice score!
Does it have fixed or adjustable sights?
Here's a pic of mine with serial# TBF9436 which I bought new in 1988. The SPC.ORD. code on the box indicates 7323 (1987, 323rd day of the year) so I think you can be pretty sure that your pistol shipped sometime earlier in 1987.

Thanks for the quick reply 824tsv. Mine has the fixed sights and doesn't have the wood grips. That is a spectacular looking piece you have there. I haven't had the chance to shoot it yet. Any idea where I can get a few extra magazines for it? I prefer S&W

Thanks

Thanks,
The wood stocks are replacements for a Model 745. I see OEM magazines on eBay all the time and at this point there are a couple of dozen listed right now. My 645 came with orange follower magazines.

Not to steal the thread, but what did you pay for this beauty? The more I look at the 645, the more I'm thinking of trying to find a nice one like yours.

645 is a great pistol. I have cycled a magazine of empties through my 645. Here is my fixed sight 645 S/N TAN68XX shipped August 1986.

Hello:
I've got a 745 that I purchased at a gun show about 10 years ago. I love it. What is the difference between the 645 & 745? Was the 6
the entry level into the large frame DA pistols?

thank you,
Nicholas
