hi,
trying to decipher CA law and it's applicability to a particular use case. i did a few searches to see if anyone else had asked this, but got no hits.
Q - if i had 11 round mags that came with a pistol purchased in the early 90's, and wanted to replace the springs and followers on them, can i buy those parts (only) to replace the OEM parts?
As this is not a conversion, modification, or ANY change from what the pistol came with, so i THINK it should be ok. However all the CA legalese doesn't seem to state that clearly one way or the other.
Clarifications -
1. These are existing mags not new ones that are 20+ years old that came with gun before all the hi-cap noise started
2. Not that it will matter, but before someone suggests replacing them with 10 rounders - you can't get 10 round replacements for the 11's, been trying to do so for over a year and they flat out don't exist due to the age of the gun and the fact that LEO's all run the 11's +.
TIA for any assistance
D
