Just another 3rd Gen Thread - 4053

Hey team,

The Smith and Wesson Gods have shined on me again this morning. Stopped by my local pawn shop on the way to some disc golf and found this guy. 1996 Smith Wesson 4053 with the original box, papers, 2 mags, and receipts from the original purchase. Factory night sights are pretty dim. This will be the 1st DAO I've had in a while and I love it. Some folks may not like the trigger but I like it as much as the TDA guns. The price was $350, which I didn't even try to beat up.

The real kicker is they have an old Billboard 1911, product code 108202. It looks to be in great shape, with 2 mags and the original box. Problem is, the right side of the ambi thumb safety has been sheared/broken off. I assume a Wilson Combat or the like can be fitted by a gunsmith but I can't find much about that product code. Hopefully someone can chime in here with an estimated value with the safety fixed in its original box. I'd like to save it from the pawn if the price is right!

Congratulations! You certainly beat me on price. I paid $400+Tax for mine last year and I thought that was a relative bargain!

I'm not a DAO shooter, but I would have done the exact same thing as you. If I didn't like it, I'd sell and probably make a little on it.

The DAO's do not have a manual safety. The double action serves as the safety just like a revolver;
