Nice looking gun and target! But what is that odd thing on the slide kinda parallel to where the firing pin is on the outside of the slide??

I know, it is the extractor. Enjoy it!

Don't sweat the extractor. It works just fine. I have the same model. It works perfectly with everything I put in it, including my handloads in ratty old cases I have been loading for years.

I didn't like the stocks so I replaced mine with VZs. In spite of the rough barrel I'm satisfied with it. The trigger was another matter. It's fixed now but mine came with the worst trigger pull I have ever seen on a 1911 in the 46-years I've been shooting them.

Congrats on your 1911TA.

Just messing with you folks! Nice looking gun. Don't think the extractor is a big deal.

Welcome to the new world......lol!

I don't know about you but I never had a problem with the internal extractor though I know people have.

I have had a lot of Sig Sauer 1911's and I have three Sig Sauer pistols and all of course have outside extractors, plus my S&W 4516.
