Default Manual Safety for 39-2

Hi, my friends 39-2 (nickle plate) has a broken manual safety (the part you would put your thumb on to turn it has broken off). It appears that this part is unobtanium and when he called S&W they were not very helpful. Anyone know where I could find one (even blued)?

Thanks.
