Default 4046TSW Help

I bought a 4046TSW today, Serial # Prefix TDU8XXX, DAO.

I thought I'd be nice to the gun and strip it down to clean it and when I removed the one piece plastic stocks I got a surprise that I can't figure out where it came from but I now have a small, stout spring to figure out where it goes!

The photo shows how small it is; I've looked at several online schematics but can't find that spring anywhere! Thanks all!

That spring looks unlike any that I have seen on a 3rd gen. It is close in size to an "extractor" spring but it does look bigger to me.

It kind of looks like the cut-off coils from a spring someone shortened. Do any of it's springs, of the same diameter, look shortened?

When I was working my way through school, I had a job in the maintenance department of a good sized company. One of the painters had a disassembled spray gun soaking in solvent and one of his buddies dropped in an extra part. Had the painter baffled for weeks.

Sorry I can't help. Looks like it could possibly be part of a broken firing pin spring, but I can't see how it would get out of the slide.

Reminds me of an ejector spring, only WAY too stout.

It may well fall under the "extra" part...I had knocked a box over two days prior and the spring may of came from that box...which further baffles...where did I it come from then!

I just put two 4046's together and There are no springs like that as I can remember. Does your gun cycle right?

old thread but I can say with certainty that it isn't a S&W 1st, 2nd, or 3rd Generation Semi-Auto Pistol.

Thanks all!
