Default 3566 Limited

Earlier this year, I fortunate enough to add a 3566 Limited to my collection.

For those of you that are not familiar with this fine pistol, it is built on the 5906 style frame, but chambered for the 356TSW cartridge. The pistol was a Performance Center offering and finished in what I think is a very attractive two tone look

The one thing that separates this 3566 Limited from all the others that have been produced is that the Performance Center built and fitted a second complete top end for this autoloader (fully documented by the PC). This second assembly allows this fine pistol to shoot 40S&W.

The safety lever used for the second top end is visually different than what was used on the 356TSW top end. This allows a very easy visual identification of which caliber the firearm is setup for at the moment

Now all I need to do is find some 356TSW ammunition at a reasonable price to go along with the 100 rounds that were included in the purchase

Bee-yootiful!

A fine acquisition, and the interchangeable top end is a real plus. Nice pics, too!

Absolutely one of the best looking handguns the PC ever shipped. If it were me, I probably would bother even once with .356TSW. Chasing the pricey and scarce brass -- for a round that is that's speedy in the first place?

I understand that "just so I have!" angle but beyond that, I'd simply be running .40cal.

Actually, I would even more likely load .40cal for it specifically at a reduced speed. I would also replace with a lighter spring if necessary, and I would treat that beautiful thing like a target pistol.

That's what I do with the 845. It can run hardball and has, extremely well. These days, I feed it 200gr FP running about the same speed. It's just a lighter, easier load and it runs perfectly. I run the same load in my 745 and my old Springer custom shop pistol. Definitely feels lighter than hardball but runs flawlessly.

Wow! That is a beautiful gun. Really nice. To bad they don't build them like that any more.

I went looking for the 3566 to shoot 356TSW, the 40 top end is a bonus.

I like the fast cartridges.

357SIG and 9x23 Winchester are amongst my regular shooters.

Enjoy !!

Colt saa, the other day when you first posted this, for some reason the pics would not develop for me & I finally gave up. Decided to check it out today & I'm glad I did! That's one sweet looking pistol...congratulations on the acquisition.
