Default 3rd Gen Barrel Bushings

A member here inquired about the dimensions of the barrel bushing found on 1006's. I've attached pics to better show what those dimensions are, and wanted to pose the question - which slides shared the same barrel bushings? Do .40 pistols have the same one as the 10mm pistols?

Has anyone ever created "match" or custom bushings for 3rd gens?

According to S&W parts list, all of the 10mm pistols, the 645, 4506, 4526, 4546, 4566, and 4576 all take the same bushing. The 4505 and 4567 models list a different part number because they are blackened.

/\ That was a surprise to me. /\

BTW, those are are the longer bbl. (4-1/4" & 5") large frame models. The compact large frames (4013, 4516 etc.) take a different bushing & their TSW counterparts get another bushing.

Looks like the medium frame 40's, TSW & non-TSW, get another.

So, no, 40's & 10mm don't take the same bushing.

BLUEDOT37, you are correct.
The 10mm project grew out of the big .45 frame.
The .40 project grew out of the 9mm frame.
