5924 Pickup
Stumbled into a very nice 5924 with box, paperwork and 3 magazines today.
Have more than a few 3rd generations but this is the first de-cocker model. June 1991 ship.
Really nice specimen. It has the recall correction markings.
It doesn't need it, but any suggestions on where to obtain grips? Usual sources outside of S&W are not available.
I believe that they were cataloged for a year - insight into total production numbers?
Thanks

Very nice acquisition!
The two pieces everyone with a frame decocker model needs to have as backup - the sideplate and good set of grips.
I sourced both from S&W when I got the 4026, see if they have any left.

Wow, just when I thought I saw a rare 3rd Gen with the 357 Sig "Shorty Forty" mystery gun in the other thread, now this.
Honestly I wouldn't be surprised to say only a few hundred of these were made. I assume probably less than the 4004 and 4054...
Well done finding this one with the original cardboard box and this condition. This is why I always hunt, is to find gems like these.

I just sold mine a few weeks ago on this forum for almost 2X that. What a smoking deal. I would have bought it had I seen it, if not to just resell it at that price. Nice steal PMosley!!

For so few being made our S/Ns are not very close. My prefix was TFMxxxx
Yours is THD... Apparently they were not all made at the same time. For so few..I would have thought the run would have been a small serial number batch.
