Default 5924 did I mess up

Had a chance on Tuesday on theoutdoortrader Website to get a 5924 in xclt shape with 3 magazines for 350.00 I probably had 30-45 minutes to commit via Ill take it before someone finally did. Im not a huge fan of blued S&W pistols but it seems to be a pretty rare model. Here is the link and as the pistol shows sold I don't think this violates the rules. Let me know what you think.

Scarce pistol, I think I would have bought it at that price. It looks pretty nice in the pictures.

Rarity by itself is a poor reason to buy a gun.

I think you messed up. But that's okay. It's happened at some point to all of us.

A 5924 in excellent condition for $350!!! Almost too good to be true. Yeah I think you messed up. I bet it found a worthy home though.

Don't beat yourself up about it. I looked at it about 15 times as well. However, a bench seat is rare as hens teeth in a 1967 Camaro, but not really desirable, if that makes sense? Plus, you got the steal of a lifetime on that 10mm, so enjoy the much better buy.

There is another pistol on the ODT that is pretty rare and has a bunch of mags and holsters to go with it or resell to recoup some cash...it is a 5905. That is, if you want a seldom seen blued 9mm.

Does any one have a letter from Jinks on this model? Production number? Serial range? Thanks

I informally read online there were 150 or less made. I can substantiate that fact unless I do the digging again.

I contacted S&W, and they could not disclose the exact production number, but said there were VERY few made, and the production run was very short. Luckily, the person I spoke with said he was personally involved back in the day on the 5924 production, and reiterated they did not make many.

Well you aren't out the $350 so that's a positive. But you could have sold it for $600-$700 without even trying hard... so it depends on how you look at things..
About 2-3 few years back someone added a Model 19-4 snub nose to the "Want to Sell" section of this forum for $250. I just happened to log on the minute it posted and immediately said I would take after spending about 15 seconds reading the ad and looking at the pics. Within 1 minute there were 3 2nd's and about 5 after that...in a matter of 10 minutes...that was when we could do that kind of thing..post 2nds. Anyway the moral of the story is sometimes it pays to hesitate or think it through.. sometimes it pays to jump on a purchase as soon as it comes available. Over time it all evens out in my book though.
