5906 Mexican Special Forces
I just ran across a video by Jerry Miculek titled S&W demo part 5. In the video he references a 5906 he claims was made for the Mexican Special forces, with a 3.5" barrel, out of the performance center. Does anyone have any further details on this alleged pistol?
Thanks, fuzzy

I wonder if he is refering to the 5906M (modelo militar) I think it was made for only 1 year maybe 2001 dont remember for sure right now, it is a Stainless Gun with a melonite finish, I remember watching one on GB couple years ago, probably should have bought it!

The 5906M was model, but the one in Jerry's video is definitely a PC gun... has the PC logo and forward slide serrations.
5906M Discussion here: 5906 military version
As Miculek says in the video about being in the PC "just sniffing around" when he saw it... wouldn't you like to be able to drive over to the S&W PC just to "sniff around" and come home with a jewel like that too?

Well, the 5906M would not be the one. The 5906 was not a PC gun, and it did not have a 3.5 inch barrel.

Thanks for the input mates. I had never seen this piece referenced before this. Hacker, thanks for the link. Will read after finishing this post. Heck, I would give a months pay just to sniff around Jerry's gun vault.

Just read that post. Fascinating. I will be on the lookout for one of these variants. Very Cool. Gosh, as long as we are talking 59's and 59xx's might as well toss in an old acquisition. Model 659 XM9/FBI special editions. I was lucky enough to get two, sequentially serialized.
all the best, fuzzy

Would that be the weapon of choice for the "Green Sombreros"?

It must be highly drop resistant like the ARVN M-16?
