Default 4513tsw mags which ones and value

Just won a 4513tsw with rail on gunbroker for 550.00 and I was wondering which spare magazines am I suppose to buy which reliably work. Ill post the pics from gunbroker in the morning. The pistol looked to be in xclt condition with the original box and a spare non s&w magazine. The listing also stated the nite sites worked great. Help me out guys.

The original 4513TSW used a 6-rd magazine, and the subsequent standard 4513TSW uses the same 7-rd magazine as the M457/457S.

I used both the 6-rd & 7-rd mags as spares in my original 4153TSW, and the 7-rd & 8-rd (4566TSW) magazines as spares for my issued 4513TSW.

Congrats on the 4513TSW. My favorite easy-shooting 3rd gen .45, and pretty much second only to my 3913 & 3913TSW. I preferred carrying and shooting the 4513TSW to the 4566TSW, but I'm sometimes considered a bit odd.

Yes I to have the 4566tsw and actually I have 2. And of 20 odd s&w autos I own they are the best shooting pistols of the bunch. I've never shot a PC gun but I'm not sure how it could be that much better than the TSW guns. And your 2 4513tsw pistols are real nice

I own a bunch of Performance Center 45's. From back when the PC seal meant something too.

I carry and shoot my 4513TSW all the time. It is just as accurate as my pricey PC 45's and has a better trigger. Congrats on your new 4513TSW! Regards 18DAI

Congrats on your buy. Can't go wrong with any 3rd Gen. .45.

Question for the experts....Am I correct to assume that the only 4513s produced were the TSW and Shorty 45 versions??

Jughed440 there was also the 45 Recon from the Performance Center. It was similar to the Shorty 45 but all black finish (there were also some silver ones) with a ported barrel. Regards 18DAI

I'm with the rest of you who've mentioned that your 4513TSWs are on your never-sell list. I made the mistake once of letting one go, and I have corrected that. In fact, I (regretfully) have let go of two Shorty 45s for reasons having nothing to do with the desirability or accuracy of the pistol, but have made sure my 4513TSW stayed here with me. There is a certain cachet to owning a Performance Center Third Gen 45, but when it comes down to accuracy and reliability in the hands of a civilian like me, I place 100 percent trust in my 4513TSW. I have the no-rail version, with the six-round mag, and it conceals just a bit better than the 7-round version because the base of that mag sticks out just a bit further.

It's my favorite semi-auto, and I confess to always checking out any one I see for sale and wishing I could bring it home too.

I enjoy shooting my 457, and if a 4513TSW ever pops up at a LGS, I'll buy it if TTSH doesn't beat me to it!

I can't comment specifically on your 4513TSW, but my 457 shoots fine with any of the factory 7 round magazines. I have a few that are marked for use with the 4516-1 only, but the 457 shoots them fine. The only thing I would point you away from are any aftermarket magazines. My 457 came with five factory and two aftermarket magazines. Neither of the two aftermarkets would allow the gun to fire double action. Scared the you know what out of me until I examined the magazines closely and was able to separate the to aftermarkets out. I tested them and sure enough, it was the magazines, not the gun itself, causing the problem.

Enjoy the heck out of that gun.

Thanks. The second (bottom) 4513TSW was an issued weapon. I decided to turn it in for a 3913TSW. When we were offered the opportunity to buy a duty weapon (when the TSW's were phased out), I opted to buy the 3913TSW (instead of the 4513TSW, 4566TSW or 4013TSW pistols I'd carried at one time or another).

My collection of 3rd gen's is a modest one. It's comprised of a 3913, 3913TSW, CS9, 4040PD, 4013TSW, CS45 & that original 4513TSW.

I never quite felt the need to add one of the larger models to my collection, as I eventually had my fill of carrying full-size guns during my career, although I do occasionally regret not having picked up a new production 6906 (when MIM came online) back when I was still carrying one my issued early production 6906's.

The good news (for us stuck in MA) is that the 4513TSW is importable!

The bad news is that I've not yet been able to find one that I could afford.
