Pre Rail 4513TSW
I found this today after work in the pre-owned gun case at my LGS. Came with original box, papers, letter to original owner, three leather holsters and a soft carry case and two original magazines. I field stripped it at the LGS and it looked very good so I made an offer and brought it home. I'll give it a good cleaning tonight but overall it shows very little wear and tear.

That's a great find, looks to be in very nice shape and well-maintained. I see someone cut a set of Hogue rubber grips to fit the mag cutout as well. Numrich used to sell nice (maybe even new?) factory Delrin grips for this model at a good price, if you were interested in that type.

I am interested in replacing those Hogue grips. I'll probably try to find a pair tonight after dinner when I slip the gun upstairs past my better half

Luckily, the 4513TSW conceals very well!
Here is the link to the Numrich page, great price but be sure to select the correct grip at the bottom (they also have the 3913TSW grips for sale): https://www.gunpartscorp.com/ad/762280.htm

You will be very happy with that purchase. It's the only .45ACP I carry. Although I did just get a 457 so I will try that too. But for now all others I have tried pale in comparison. Congratulations!

I would pick up a factory grip just to have one in case the supply dries up. For shooting any more than 50 rds I would leave the Hogue grip on. Though I don't have a 4513 , I do have a 4563tsw . Shooting 200 rds with the straight or the curved plastic grips can get brutal , so I did put a Hogue on mine and now it is much more pleasant to shoot. Anyway very nice gun and good luck with it . I find your statement about hiding it from the wife funny , after 40 years of marriage my wife has no clue how many guns I have nor would I ever tell her . I figure she will find out after I take the dirt nap and then I won't care.

Congrats opaul!
The pre rail 4513TSW is one of, if not the finest compact carry 45's extant. IMO of course. Enjoy yours! Regards 18DAI

Very nice and highly regarded by the carry crowd on this forum. Enjoy, I couldn't imagine it not shooting as well as it looks.

Another nod from a 4513tsw pre rail owner. Also I love when this forum pays it forward as I have been looking for factory replacements for mine seems like forever now. Rock on for the Numrich link!

Welcome to the club, opaul! Finding a gem like that just by happenstance means your lucky stars were aligned properly, and you'll appreciate it even more once you start shooting your new acquisition. Always nice to see a fellow Tar Heel score a great deal.
My 4513TSW is the one I'll never sell or trade. Took a while for me to settle on that model for my EDC, but I haven't looked back. Gotta love a fine 45!

Thanks guys. I field stripped and cleaned it last night and it has very little wear. I'll get a picture up soon of the holsters that came with the pistol. They all fit tight. I've had previous luck with putting the pistol in a heavy plastic bag and inserting it into the holster for a couple of days to relieve the tight fit. What methods do you use?

I have a 4513tsw which I keep by the bed. It's the post rail version. I bought it new and it still looks that way. I carry a CS45 I bought new, too. It's mint also. I wish I had the ones I sold.

I have to brag a little.. I just added a 4513tsw pre rail to my gen3 stable,
Should have it by fri, took a while looking but finally hooked it.
One question, I notice that some have ' caution, decocker returns ready to fire' or something to that effect stamped on the slide, and others don't. Is this a feature that they all have or just the ones that say so?
Regardless I am stoked on this find as I didn't think it was in the cards!

Congrats! VERY FEW pre rail 4513TSWs have the decock only feature. Most of those also have Novak night sights too. They are, IMO, the perfect compact 45 carry gun.
I have one and it has been my constant 45 carry gun for many years now. I've only seen two others so equipped.
Let us know how yours shoots. Regards 18DAI

You did good! It looks great. My first love is the 1911 but I find I am shooting the 4566 more than any other. The whole 45xx series are hard to beat.

Great find. My pre rail 3913TSW is my primary carry gun. I don't know of a better semi auto anywhere. I like it a bit more than my later rail version.

Yes so it appears the gen3 bug has bit me! The 4513tsw pre rail came in last nite and I love it, then I just now scored on another rare find.. a 4567!
So in the past 6 months I have went from not being able spell gen3 to acquiring.. (2) 457's, 3913tsw prerail, 4506 no dash, 4566 melonite, 3914DAO, CS45 and now the latest 2.. will this stop??!!

Zombie thread. I actually prefer the factory nylon grips over the aftermarket rubber grips. Which is interesting because I almost always put on Hogue or Pachmayr grips. But I don't have huge hands and the nylon grips work for me.Nice find. I also won a bid in May of 2020 on a pre-rail 4513 TSW as well. Very accurate and soft shooting handgun. Have you held onto it?
