Cabela's 4013
Saw this yesterday at the local Cabela's store. Seems they have a premium on all their hardware but then again this might be a good price. I was just browsing. It was just north of $600

Value and worth are not always relational. I will pay whatever I can/want based on what I have in my account, the items availability and how much I want it. As the TSW series become harder and harder to find $600 may not be an unreasonable price to someone who wants one. Not sure I would personally go over $500-525 for a .40S&W. If it were a 3913TSW I would balk less at that price tag. But that's me. That particular 4013 looks to be in excellent condition.

I paid 450.00 for mine a year ago. There is demand for the TSW and condition is everything. Price can vary.

I agree. I'm not looking for a .40 caliber pistol either, but if I run across a 3913TSW then that's a different story.
I didn't inspect this one but it did look to be in very good condition.

I found a 4013TSW in almost new condition at Cabela's about a year and a half ago. Without checking my records, I think I paid about $475 for it. The condition and the TSW quality were what pushed me over the edge. Others may have better luck, but I had been looking for a 4013TSW for quite a while before I ran across one that, while priced less, wasn't fairly heavily worn.
The $600 price? I guess it depends on the prices of other equivalent condition 4013TSWs you have seen for sale.

Doesn't Cabela's have a reputation for knocking a few bucks (or even more) off their posted prices for used guns? They don't sell used pistols here in MA so I can't say for certain... but it seems I have seen an awful lot of reports on-line of them doing exactly that.
I can also mail you a Cabela's $20 off coupon ($150 min in-store purchases only) if that helps. Just PM me your address.

I just saw a 4013TSW local in excellent condition with box and all documents with 2 magazines sell for $350. This was in January 2016. 40's, do not bring $600, yet. I would be comfortable in the $400+ range.

As far as 40's not bringing $600 yet, That would depend a lot on just what model 40 it is & of course condition, whether it had box & docs, & so on. If this 4013TSW you're looking at meets all that criteria, I don't think $600 is out of line. I happen to like 40SW, so when I had the opportunity to obtain a 4013TSW, I jumped all over it, & I have never regretted it.

As is stated above, different prices at different locations/times but always limited to how much Mad Money you have to play with.
For me, a 4013 (non-TSW) would be more desirable, & I'd likely pay more for, than a 4013TSW.

I hope to heck you bought it! As described, that would be considered a totally incredible deal around here.

I guess a lot depends on whether or not you are a .40 S&W kind of guy. I am, so I own a lot of them... and the pristine perfect pre-rail 4013TSW I own is the pride of my collection! But if you are not a .40 S&W fan, and it's clear that a lot of people ain't, then the deal and the guns are useless to you.

A single stack (non-TSW) Model 4013 in top condition is something I've searched for (unsuccessfully) for a long time. One dealer near me promised last year in no uncertain terms that he'd get some in as trade-ins, but he never fulfilled that promise. Sometimes I wonder if their popularity for 10mm conversions has something to do with their scarcity.
Anyway, I wouldn't pay more for a Model 4013 than for a pre-rail 4013TSW in the same high condition, but there is no question that it's one very desirable gun for us .40 fans. For now, my Model 4053 sits a little lonely for companionship in the safe.

I've seen top condition 4013's in my area selling for around $350 although I have not seen one in the last few months.

Yes, they will some times work with you on price.
My local Cabela's had a well worn 6946 that had been siting on the shelf for quite some time (I think it was tagged at $450). So I asked what they could do on the price, he looked it up and said that he couldn't do any better so I passed on it.
Other times I have got them to drop $50 off the asking price.
It never hurts to ask, it's not like I've never been told NO.

I have never seen good deals on guns at Cabelas. The only shot I see is if they simply make a mistake in identifying the gun. They have a gun listed now, twice, two different stores. I've looked closely and it almost looks like the same pictures, but not exact. The guns are identical and the boxes show different serial numbers. One is $999, the other is $1,599...huh? Either one of them is a great deal, or the other is a ripoff. My experience with a very similar model tells me that the $1,599 is a ripoff.

They tend to be overpriced; if they would come off the price then OK. If not I wouldn't consider it for even a second.

A top condition Model 4013 single stack for $350 would be in my greedy little 3rd Gen aficionado hands so fast that it would make your head spin. Unfortunately, after four opportunities over the last 14 months (at $425+Tax and up) but none of them in " TTSH-acceptable" condition, I remain 4013-less.
It's a little less of a priority this year after a Model 410S buy I made in November and a super-tight 2016 budget... but it's not exactly forgotten either.

A clerk at Cabela's told me they don't deal on a used gun until it has been there for 30 days. I was trying to work him down on a CZ 452 that they just got in the day before. My thinking was if a gun has been there 30 days a lot of folks saw it and passed.

Hmm if $600 is considered an ok deal on a TSW 4013 what would this one bring? PC Shorty .40 with factory LPA adjustable sights.
Not really looking to sell but it is my only .40.
Being a 10mm shooter I'm just not much of a fan of the 10mm short round.
Saying that this particular pistol is one heck of a shooter!!

This is a picture I took recently of a 4013 along with the price tag. There is a LGS that has several one being a 4013S. If I recall correctly the asking price is over $550.
