There have been a number of threads about various third-gens from iammo, including the 915. There's a $25 coupon code on slickguns for the 915 that does sweeten the deal a bit.

From a guy who owns several Performance Center Smith autos from the early /mid 90s.......
the 915 is my favorite.......for a full size carry 9mm.
I like the straight grip.....better than the curved back strap.
FWIW Novak used the 915 as the basis for "several" customized 3G Smiths..................

I recently picked up a (slightly worn!) 915 to replace the one I foolishly sold 20 yrs ago. As I took it out of the pistol case at the range, I swore I heard Peaches and Herb singing in the background...

Okay, your thread title/opening post is a little confusing, so let's clear that up first. Slick Guns is a pretty neat search engine/database/service that posts up LINKS to deals. As far as I know, Slick Guns is basically an enhanced search tool and they don't sell guns. I'm not sure if they sell anything. You linked directly to an offering from iAmmo -- who definitely does deal in used and re-import Smith & Wesson pistols.
I own a 915 but it's NIB/mint and tucked away. These pistols are obviously older guns, much used, with varying degrees of wear (some so heavy you'll do a double-take.) I do have one buying experience with iAmmo on a used, formerly issued re-import 39-2. My review is mixed.
As that gun and this gun are different and (likely?) came from different places, I'm not sure how much my experience helps but I will say this:
Be prepared to receive a handgun that is below your expectations when it comes to finish and exterior wear. Without being able to pick it up before you buy -- it is a very tough game to think or hope that your "A, B, C, and D" is similar to what the seller is grading.
This scale of grading is no standardized industry scale. It's some guy looking at a crate full of old guns that often showed up on a cargo ship.
If you want to hear more about my purchase from iAmmo than that, send me a PM. For a gun that was heavily produced in great volume such as the 915 (very good pistol!), I would shop somewhere else. And while you do take a similar risk when shopping Gunbroker -- you typically get multiple pictures of your specific gun before you even bid. 915's are plentiful on Gunbroker and literally listed all the time. The supply is not short.

Pre Owned 915 from iAmmo.com
Sevens - I am sorry you were not happy with your purchase. I do not think you ever contacted us about an issue. ALL of these guns are inspected and cleaned before leaving our warehouse.

The 915 is an excellent gun. I have read many reviews of used gun buyers from iAmmo and the majority of them were positive. We live in an era where people want $600 quality for $300, even if it just looks like quality but isn't. That is why companies like Taurus & Kel-Tec do so well even though their quality control is highly suspect. Personally I would rather have a well used S&W 915 with surface rust than a brand new Taurus G2. I myself have also been looking at the iAmmo 915's as a restoration project. As cheap as it is to get a gun cerakoted (if you can detail strip and reassemble it yourself) cosmetics are not overly concerning.

For about $250 shipped for "D" grade, it's a good way to get your hands on a refinishing project. Actually, it looks sort of neat in that state. Reminds me of a movie prop.

I'd picked up a 915 and a 6904 both were said to be police/security guard trade ins...... the alloy frames showed the normal signs of open carry..... had both cerakoted a "titanium/matt silver"....just left the slides blued with some minor wear on the edges......IMHO they look good as reverse two-tone with some well earned "character".
Perfect for ....when I don't want to take a "nicer" gun......LOL...they are my " so I don't have to carry a Glock" Smiths.........

Love my 915, the only mods I have done to it is installing a Novak rear sight, bobbed hammer and slide stop from a 6904. Clean lines with the single side safety and very accurate.

Hold the phone a second -- my experience needs far more explaining and would not be accurately summed up as "not being happy." I would be more than happy to explain via PM or e-mail as it is not exactly on topic in this thread. Generally speaking, with my one experience, I would buy another gun from iAmmo. Specifically speaking to the 915 the OP is seeking and what iAmmo is offering, I would shop elsewhere.
I have and had NO intention to disparage iAmmo and as I said -- if the deal were right, I would try again. This is not simply a pass/fail, my transaction was three pistols and actually makes for an interesting tale.
Just not in this thread.

Here's my well worn 915. My favorite carry.
Almost bought a Sig M11-A1 last year to carry but the 915 is lighter and has a much better trigger than the Sig I shot. And, the 915 has been with me a very long time.

That's a nice looking pistol. I would buy a "well worn" 915 like that any day.
But I can not say that about the ones on iAmmo at there price.

What grade was your pistol represented as?
Their base price appears to be a "D".
D - For shooting enjoyment
Excessive finish wear throughout
Significant corrosion
Substantial grip wear
Strongly scored and/or corroded bore
I almost bought a 3913 through Iammo a couple years ago, but found one in a local shop.
There were many positive reviews, at that time which preceded their recent configurable options format.

I had not heard of iAmmo until this thread. The 915s seem to be at a great price and there are several other options. Looks to me like a great site to keep an eye on.
Cost effective shooters are in my wheel house.
Thanks for the thread guys!
