Default BG380 roll pins walk!

I have an original BG380 w/Insight Laser. The gun is great except for the walking roll pins! After each trip to the range and shooting 50-75 rds., I have to reseat the pins. The little mouse gun now has over 750 rds. through it and the pins get looser every time it's shot! Anyone else have this problem. How do you fix it? Thanks.

Default BG380 roll pins

Eliminate the roll pins and insert regular pins. You can purchase lengths of assorted pin sizes from Brownells and cut to size to fit your gun. You can interchange the pins from roll to regular or regular to roll. It works and not that expensive.

This is a common issue with the Bodyguard series. The only two solutions I have read about are (a) call S&W and ask for a new pin (b) Buy a Techna Clip replacement screw and post and use that instead.

I solved ALL of my BG 380 / crimson trace problems today. I traded it in at Cabelas for a Ruger LC 380. They gave me $320 towards the $419 LC 380. Put 125 rounds thru it this afternoon......zero failures. Holds 7+1, weighs 19.8 oz loaded.....much softer recoil.....but the biggy is.....it works every time you pull the trigger. I wanted so much to get the BG to be dependable.....just got convinced after 1100 rounds....it was NEVER going to happen.

Try using Loc-Tite thread locking compound on the pins. It should hold them in place. It can be unlocked with a heat gun. Try to find the green Loc-Tite as it is for assembled parts. Avoid the red Loc-Tite as it is for permanent assembly.

Mine is the no laser model purchased a year ago. I've put over 600 trouble free rounds down range and no roll pin problems so far.

Use a center punch and just lightly tap each end of the roll pin to spread it out a little bit. That should cure it.
