639 slide on 439 frame ?
i have a 439 frame that i would like to install a 639 slide on, is it as easy as a field strip, and which barrel do i use, i'm guessing the 639 slide/barrel assembly, but will it be a direct swap w/o the need for fitting, thanks

Here are my two 639's one has the 439 slide the other 5906 slide. Both of the guns have been converted to 3rd gen hammers to get rid of 1/2 cock. They both have over 1000rd thru them with out any problems .

I believe it SHOULD be a simple field strip and swap since you are talking about both halves being 2nd Generation pistols.
I would also think the best idea would be to keep the barrel, bushing and guide rod with it's original slide.
Me personally? I really, really do like the look of a two-tone pistol. I think you should totally give it a shot.

Here's a 3904 slide and barrel on a 669 frame, and vice versa. They both work just fine in this adaptation. The 3904 frame dustcover overhangs the slide dimple just a smidgeon, that's all.
