S&W 5906TSW Value?
I am thinking about selling my 5906tsw because I'm moving to all suppressor ready pistols and unfortunately can't get a threaded barrel for it.
It is only the gun and one mag. Was just wondering what a fair price to ask for the pistol would be? Only pic I have of it but it's a really clean pistol. Night sights still work.

Condition is everything and you make it sound like yours is quite nice. I don't know production numbers or percentages but my own exposure has shown me that there are far more 4006TSW's and 4566TSW's than there ever were of the 5906TSW pistols.
I don't think it's wrong to use the .40 and .45 prices to help figure a price on yours, consider that all else being equal, the 5906TSW is more sought after.

Some have gone for very big money (relatively speaking) on that big gun auction site... but they were all complete with original box, papers, extra magazines and even a few interesting extras. I couldn't find even one that sold with just the gun and one mag alone so anything I could offer would just be a guess. That said, I think you should review the completed auctions anyway just to get some feel for how the bidding went. It may offer some clues.

I was actually just looking to buy one - searching online - which brought me here - do let me know if you decide to sell it.
Thanks,
K

Point of reference: purchased a police trade-in with rail removed for $400, one magazine, no box or papers, excellent condition except the rail. (Happens to be the factory-marked "Return to Fire" as well)

Thanks for the help all. I haven't decided if I wanna sell it yet. I really wish someone made a threaded barrel for these! How "rare" are they exactly? The only one I seen on GB is above $700 but it's mint

Mint ones seem to go for $750-900 with everything all together. It's the rarest TSW between the major calibers in a full size not counting the oddball alloy frames or DAO models. I prefer them because of the front strap checkering compared to the standard models.
As far as spares and aftermarket, what there is is what there is. S&W can't make a double stack 9mm that accurate anymore, and I kind of shudder if they try and make one now (unless they farm it out to General Dynamics).

You can always price it aggressively high and see how much demand exists. I just picked up a straight 5906 today, in VG condition with a single mag. I love it!!!!
Anyone on this site who over pays a bit on a 5906TSW isn't likely to have hungry children at home.

I'm certain your situation is dire. And I want to help. If you have anything you need to move quickly please let me know. For the right "deal" I can have a Western Union Money Order sent to your grocery store tonight. It's doubtful, but you may be running low on Rib Eye and Single Malt. I WANT TO HELP YOU!!!

Rib Eye and Single Malt??? Dream on!!! More like stale bread and thin gruel.
This crazy expensive hobby is breaking old, retired, fixed-income me ya know. Anyway, I've got to get to bed early tonight. I'm selling more of my old, watered-down blood tomorrow morning so I can get another 3913/908 magazine.
