Does anybody know year or approximate serial number when the 41 FALSE Muzzle started shipping with the Model 41? My understanding it did not ship when originally released in 1957. Is it tied to the introduction of the trigger guard scallop or putting the serial and model on opposite side of the frame?

The false muzzle became a standard in the box item in 1958. You are correct it was not included when the model 41 was released in 57. It is not tied in with either the trigger scallop or the model number move as these are later.

Duhhhhhh of the year finalist......me. I searched for a FMB on line, found one, paid a LOT.....came home from FL with it and looked in my 1967
Model 41 box. Yep....there it is.

I also have a 123xx no. gun myself but it arrived with no box or papers when I got it or anything else for that matter except one mag.

When in 58....that is a very hard question to answer apart from saying late.
The problem being all the sellers out there selling guns in wrong boxes with wrong parts and papers. I have trouble sometimes telling right from wrong, I dont know how your guys do it... Look on gunbroker any day and you will find "bitsa" model 41s and not just one, makes any kind research extremely difficult.
Considering 12XXX would be south of mid 1958 I would guess and say it did not come with a false muzzle, guess being a key word here. I think your gun just missed out receiving a false muzzle in the box. A few thousand higher and my guess would not have been the same.
