Default Has anyone ever compared ........

the Cz-97B, decocker version, to any of the SS S&W .45s? I'm a serious Cz-75 fan, and am considering either a new Cz-97 or a good used Smith 4506. Thanks.......

I know it's not the same, but it was a smooth transition from my CZ75 BD to the 9mm line of 3rd gens. I shoot the CZ 75BD and the 5904 and 6906 quite a bit and don't have trouble going back and forth.

Once my son showed me the proper way to manipulate the safety/decocker with my thumb, it is very effortless.

Haven't compared the 97 to any SS S&W .45s. I did own a 97 and it is a fine pistol - well made and accurate (as you would expect with a CZ).

I sold mine simply because when it comes to .45 out of a semi-auto, I prefer the 1911.

My point is that you won't really know unless you spend some time shooting a 97.
