Default SW1911PC

After a 5 month wait, my pistol is here. This is my first non Colt 1911. Had it out this morning and it digested 100 rounds with ease. This gun is VERY tight. Accuracy is there. First impression is positive. This is going to be a frequent shooter so I'm not that concerned about the black finish quickly disappearing from the barrel. I'm heading back to the range tomorrow for another 100.

Beautiful. If it's anything like mine you'll be very happy. I've never owned a Colt 1911 so would be interested to hear any comments you may have between the two.

I just removed the black coating on the barrel hood with emery cloth.

I think it looks better without the scuffing and the caliber designation is still filled with the black coating so it stands out.

You're going to like that gun a lot. The only challenging thing about it is removing and reinstalling that Briley barrel bushing but once you learn how, it isn't hateful. The manual is no help and the video on S&W's website about the gun shows a gunsmith popping it out and back in like a normal 1911 bushing but good luck with that! When I asked an S&W Performance Center gunsmith about that video, he just said, "Well, you have to remember that it's a video...".

I talked to customer service yesterday and the gunsmith finally signed off on mine. So it will be finally returning home from the mothership after a 7 week vacation. I was told they would replace the slide because there was a stepped up area on the breech. Not sure how that ever made out of the PC
