Handled a 3953 today with the slide laser-marked warning that it can fire if the magazine is removed. It did indeed dry fire with no magazine. Is that an indication that the mag disconnect was removed (or never installed) by Sig?

Never installed. That's factory engraved. It's not Sig it's S&W though

I would think this was an LE gun and not done at a later date as it has the warning on the slide.

Duh. Been playing with both lately.

Fun fact.

It turns out the slide on the pistol mentioned above, in addition to being engraved, was never even drilled for the mag disconnect. There's no hole where it would normally be.

Nice thing for those who are not fans of the feature - you can't be accused of having removed a "safety device".
