SW1911 4.25" E or PC owners
Tell me about how reliable these two recent models are , how accurate and anything else that comes to mind . I'm looking to buy a LW 1911 and these two are on my list but useful reviews on newer models are rather limited . Not much on older models ether .

I have the S&W E Series, a Sig C-3 and a Colt Wiley Clapp (in order of photos) all lightweights and love them all, but I like the Colt Wiley Clapp LW the best. The "E" series is probably the prettiest of all 3 but has the least durable black finish of all 3 too.

03hemi Finish matters little to me , as nice to look at as the colt might be it would only be a carry pistol for me . So trigger feel , accuracy dependability or more important but Thanks .

They all have the same feeling trigger that breaks like glass, but the Clapp has the least take-up I'd say. Can't go wrong with the Clapp.

SW 1911's are highly underrated IMHO.
I have an E-Series (SC round butt) and the 4.25" PC version.
Both have been 100% reliable. The PC Version started out noticeably tighter and with marginally better accuracy. I prefer to shoot the PC because I think it shoots better. That or it could be that I spent almost 50% more on it so I have convinced myself it shoots better!
Can't go wrong with either. If budget isn't a factor; get the PC. The 5" PC is probably my Christmas present to myself.

The S&W 1911 are definitely underrated yes, they're certainly some of the prettiest 1911s out there right now. I'd still like to get the PC too eventually.

I have two S&W 1911's. A regular full size and the 4.25...both 100%. I have shot many 1911's and don't find any I would take over the ones I have that aren't over 2k...and even then it's only pride of ownership and not better function.

I have the E-Series Sc gun like the one in 03Hemi's photo. It shoots great and what I especially like about it is that it shoots to just a hair above point of aim vertically at 25 yards. Some other fixed sight 1911s I've owned shot low and without an adjustable sight, it's hard to correct that.
The black finish on mine doesn't show any wear but I only use lined holsters for all my handguns. Lobo Gun Leather's smooth leather lining really protects finishes well.
Oh, forgot to mention that the reason I chose the E-Series over another PC gun was the Trijicon night sights that the PC model lacks.
