Default KSD Grips for the CS45

As soon as I got my CS45 I started looking for a set of Big Dog grips to replace the dreadful "Flubber" grips that came on these pistols. I couldn't stand the cheap, rubber feel that was increasingly sticky. It got so bad I thought the pistol may have been exposed to some kind of substance that was causing the grips to break down.

I had purchased a set of KSD grips for my 3914 and was very pleased with them, and decided although it was a long shot, to inquire of our Turkish friend about grips for the CS45.

To my surprise, they do make them and I am hugely pleased with the result. Not just because they feel so much better than the Flubbers I took off the pistol. The KSD grips are nicely packaged and come with the block the grip screws mount into. They are also one-piece, which also surprised me, but the new grips fit beautifully and are held in place with the same screws that held the much-despised Hogues on.

Another highly recommended and high value purchase from KSD.

Thumbs up

Earlier this week I was going back and forth (email) about getting some Beretta grips from them.......

I saw some dark walnut stippled grips with the Beretta Logo on "Amazon"....... wondered if I could get a set for my Compact and/or my Compact Type-M but without the logo.......

E-mailed my question through the Amazon website......the guy at KSD could not have been more helpful... LOL despite the language barrier (my fault; do not use slang terminology) they Identified the grips I'd seen; said there was no problem with getting them for either Compact w/o the Beretta logo.........

and 24 hours later the grips for my two Beretta's are on the way!!!!!!

IMO: 5 Stars.... for Customer Service..........

They do look nice I admit. Would also look decent on stainless models. My CS-9 still wears the "Goodyears" or "Flubbers" but yours and the Big Dogs do look better.

Just received two pair of grips from KSD, both checkered with
silver medallions. One set for CZ 75B and one for S&W 5906,
what a good company to do business with, can not say enough
about the quality and price.

I appreciate that, but it wasn't too much trouble on my part to swap out those Hogues.

What is almost as interesting is this business model that allows this company to tool up to produce exact-fitting grips machined out of wood, with this kind of precision and detail. And for odd models of pistols, like the CS45, that hasn't been produced in years and couldn't have been in great numbers on their best day. And, on top of everything else, all this is happening in Turkey.

I sent them a set of original pre rail 3913TSW grips to see if they could make them for me. Mustafa got back to me and told me that they can and are making them. It shouldn't be a major project (I hope). I also ordered a set for my rail version 3913TSW.

Pictures of course when they arrive!

...so are they reverse engineering the grips? Scanning and making a CAD file for 3D machining in wood?

Default cs45 grips

Those grips look great. I have tried to email KSD on two occasions and have not received a response. Any advice on how to contact them? I would really like a set for my CS45.
Any help appreciated.

I've also found KSD unresponsive to emails. I have a friend who wanted to buy several sets of stocks from them but when he couldn't get answers to a few questions, he bought elsewhere.

I think KSD was hurt by Turkey government banning PayPal.
Trademark issues, too.
Glad I got mine early:

They had resolved both the PayPal issue and the trademark issue.

I think the bigger issue is the political unrest going on in Turkey presently.

KSD was designing grips for my pre rail 3913TSW, but the last time I heard from Mustafa was early in August. They still have listings on Amazon for S&W and other guns.

Whether they are just selling off existing stock or are still producing grips is very unclear.

I find nothing wrong with the grips that came on my stainless CS 45. I have carried it for over 20 years, and am used to them. The wood grips you bought look very good, however.

Default CS45 KSD grips

I sent the money last night to KSD. He said my grips will be shipped today. He said they have just returned from their holiday. Probably trying to catch up with demand.

I just ordered KSD CS45 grips, $85 +ship, $91 total for me in FL.
KSD can be found on esty.com, search on smith wesson grips, select any from KSD and then click link to their store and then search for the model you want.
Hope this helps (and I didn't break any forum rules).

Hi all I was able to reach Mustapha using [email protected] . It took a long while and I had just about given up when he contacted me at my E Mail address. I saw this picture and fell in love and want a set for my CS 9. He is working on making a improved set using the side screws and I told him no rush but I want the new and improved set when they are ready. I bought my CS9 when I became a instructor, have the Trijicon Night sights that correct the low to point of aim with the Novaks, the Big Dog Grips, and converted to DAO because that is the trigger I like. I can't wait to get these grips and pics will follow

They seem to be back in production. I exchanged several emails and had a phone call from Mustafa today. I should have some grips coming in the not distant future.

Pictures will follow!
